"Devotion" Lay me down among autumn leaves. Between the trees. Sunset through the canopy, blinding crystals of light. Take me by the rivers edge A thousand eyes but no witness Silent surrender A thousand stars but no light Remains Written by Kayla Sevier May 7th 2023 About 'Devotion' I have been wanting to experiment more with my writing. I get into these moods late at night listening to Norwegian music and just letting my mind go any place but here. I always end up in a forest; sometimes its foggy and foreboding and other times the sun is dappled through the lush canopy above. I am usually painting when I get into these moods so I have pen and paper beside me for when I want to write some sentences down. It's not exactly poetry at times, more like "artful words" that come to mind. 'Devotion' has dual meanings, I wanted it to be both sensual and insinuate something dark and malicious occurred.
